A Lake Charles TV station had a story about the ongoing rebuilding efforts there after Hurricane Rita. The CrossBridge and DOC mission teams are cited in the story. Here's a link to the story:

There's even a link on the page to the video of Vern's interview.

E-mail from Randy
"It's amazing when 17 people are all pulling in the same direction - the Lord's direction. Making some real progress, both on our projects & with the people we've come across. Our roofers were completely tar covered today, but the roof they were on in the 90+ degree heat is now waterproof. Our trailer home repairers made great strides today with a family that showed up at church a week ago, concerned they couldn't find God. Maybe they haven't found him yet, but 26 of his hands & feet showed up & gave buckets of sweat making a difference for the family. We made another friend - Rome - who was searching as well. When he showed up to paint on Monday & saw all the fun & fellowship going on, he decided to join us. He even told his prospective new employer that he couldn't make it in until next Monday since he was doing church work this week! The big news today was a local TV station stopping by to film us in action. Not for our glory, but for His. It was an opportunity to spread the word about the ongoing need down here, and maybe back home as well as we'll try to get it on air in Lincoln. Tonite after devotions we all had a sing-along in the men's dorm. Joey on guitar, all of us joining in singing. Not only did it draw us closer together, we shared a lot of ideas on moving forward missions & small groups @ CBCC. Really late to still be up, Vern will be cracking the whip on us @ 0700, then driving us mercilessly until 7 or 8 tomorrow nite."

Below is information and a link to the blog of 2 missionaries currently stationed in Haiti. As you know, Haiti has recently been through a horrendous tragedy with a large earthquake. Please click the link to Kim and Patrick's blog and read about their challenges, and how God is working with them and through them during this very serious and dark time.

NO CREED BUT CHRIST AFFIRMATION OF FAITH
As members of the Christian Church, we confess that Jesus Christ, the Son of the living God, and proclaim Him Lord and Savior of the world. In Christ's name and by His grace, we accept our mission of witness and service to all people. We rejoice in God, maker of heaven and earth, and in the covenant love which binds us to God and one another. Through baptism into Christ, we enter into newness of olife and are made one with the whole people of God. In the communion of the Holy Spirit we are joined together in discipleship and in obedience to Christ. At the table of the Lord, we celebrate with thanksgiving the saving acts and Presence of Christ. Within the universal church, we receive the gift of ministry and the light of Scripture. In the bonds of Christian faith, we yield ourselves to God that we may serve the One whose kingdom has no end.
IN ESSENTIALS, UNITY; IN NON-ESSENTIALS, LIBERTY; IN ALL THINGS, CHARITY.
